Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

Synopsis from School Library Journal
When Bella Swan moves from sunny Phoenix to Forks, Washington, a damp and dreary town known for the most rainfall in the United States, to live with her dad, she isnt expecting to like it. But the level of hostility displayed by her standoffish high school biology lab partner, Edward Cullen, surprises her. After several strange interactions, his preternatural beauty, strength, and speed have her intrigued. Edward is just as fascinated with Bella, and their attraction to one another grows. As Bella discovers more about Edwards nature and his family, she is thrown headlong into a dangerous adventure that has her making a desperate sacrifice to save her one true love.

Grade: B-

Review
For starters, I hate vampires! Always have. However, I got real sick of not knowing what all the fuss was about this book so, after seeing the movie previews, I decided to read it. It was actually pretty good. It was a great combination of romance and suspense. The setting in which the book takes place is so realistic that it makes everything easy to picture in your mind. It took me no time at all to read. It isn't exactly the most well written book and was often repetitive, but I still liked it for some weird reason. I think this is probably a good transition into fantasy for me.

Overall
Will continue to read serious!

Cover B+
The cover is simple but attractive. I can remember picking it up to see what it was about in Walmart because I liked the cover. It is original but it just seems like it could have been a tiny bit better.

Twilight was the reason I started to blog about books. I love the series, with the exception of Breaking Dawn. :D

I actually love vampires, but for some reason, I just wasn't that drawn to Edwards character. I actually ended up liking the charcater of Jacob more. I probably wouldn't have continued with the series if his character hadn't appeared, and I absolutely could not finish Breakign Dawn. That's a first for me. I like to finish all of my books, even the ones I don't really enjoy.
