Synopsis via Goodreads
The tale of Abby, born into a world where everyone has magical abilities, and where those who possess none – like Abby – “are bad luck, and quite possibly a danger to society. The outlook for an ‘Ord’ (an Ordinary) isn’t bright. Many are cast out by their families, while others are sold to treasure hunters (ords are impervious to spells and enchantments).” Abby is one of the more fortunate ones who are sent to a special school to negotiate a magical world with their particular unmagical “disability” – and to avoid being prey of the kidnappers, carnivores and goblins ready to prey upon the Ords.

I really enjoy me a good middle grade book and this one sounds like it is going to be a delightfully fun and enjoyable read. Plus the cover is so lovely and colorful! This is definitely one I can't wait to read!
Aw, that book sounds adorabley fun! :)
ReplyDeleteWowza! This is the first time I'm hearing about this book, and I find myself really interested in reading it! I'm a sucker for books that involve magic and schools for magic (although, in this case, it's schooling for a lack of magic). This is going to the top of my TBR list!
