Synopsis via Goodreads
With Dan McAndrews's murder finally behind her, Scarlett has high hopes for a fresh start at Wakefield Hall Collegiate, the elite English boarding school her grandmother runs. Unfortunately, those hopes are dashed when her nemesis, the infamous Plum Saybourne, is transferred to the school. Plum wastes no time turning Scarlett’s impressionable classmates against her.

Scarlett has dealt with Plum’s nasty schemes before, and she can handle her archenemy very nicely, thank you—until Plum sets her sights on Scarlett’s best friend, Taylor, and new boyfriend, Jase. Then Scarlett is more than willing to fight for what’s rightfully hers.

Things only get worse after Scarlett becomes entangled in a mysterious death on campus. Scarlett is compelled to investigate because she wants to protect someone close to her. She never imagines that she’ll uncover secrets related to her parents’ fatal accident so many years ago. . . .

Noteworthy Passages

Scarlett, Taylor, and Jase; pg. 103
"It's an hour before last-lesson bell," I say. "She can't get back here till then."
"Oh yeah?" Taylor says grimly. "What is she hasn't got a class scheduled, and your grandma tells her what happened to her niece, and she decides to come back here and check that we're not drinking her booze and photographing the penguins doing freaky stuff to each other?"
"Penguins?" Jase mutters in disbelief. He looks into the living room. "Blimey," he says, taking in the scene. "Hardcore."

Scarlett and Jase; pg. 115
"She just keeps digging till she gets to you," I mumble furiously. "I didn't really want to hit her, but she was going to slap me first and--"
"It's okay, Scarlett. I don't think you're some sort of violent psycho, I promise," he says hugging me. "My dad used to say all kinds of stuff, but that girl could make a nun so angry she'd brain her with a crucifix."

PLEASE NOTE: This is a feature hosted here at my blog in which I present you with selected passages or quotes that I deem Noteworthy from a book I've just reviewed. My hopes are of course, that these passages will make you want to pick the book up and read it. This feature was started and created by me in January in hopes of making my blog more unique. That being said, I would like to kindly request that you do not use this feature as it was intended to be for my blog only and is not a meme. If you see some one else using it, please know it is without my permission. Thank you.
